The finalists of the Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition organized by the ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association for the 10th time this year have been announced. This year, 278 packaging that applied to the competition with a record number of applicants were evaluated in 12 different categories and 126 packaging were awarded. In the Crescents and Stars for Packaging, where all the finalists can participate in the WorldStar and AsiaStar competitions, awards will be presented at a special ceremony that will be organized in Istanbul in October.

The 'Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition', organized for the tenth time this year by the ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association, is concluded. The competition, where packaging manufacturers, brand owners and designers participated with their existing packaging on the market for the last two years, attracted great attention from both domestic and international markets.

Meeting in ASD on 23-24 June 2022 dated, the Professional Jury Members examined all the packaging gand evaluated the applications fit to 11 criteria in the competition specifications. Following the evaluation from ease of use and production quality to environmental awareness, from design to originality, a total of 126 packaging were awarded. In the awards ceremony of the competition, which became a success story and became a brand throughout Türkiye with its increasing number of participants; winners of Gold, Silver, Bronze and Competency Awards will be announced from among the packaging that compete in the finals. Among the products that are entitled to receive the 'Gold Award', a maximum of 3 Gold Packaging Awards will be given in cooperation with the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE).

In the competition, where applications from abroad have been accepted since 2015 and original packaging designs, different and innovative packaging applications that cast a mark on the industry worldwide, are awarded, the winners of the competition can also represent Türkiye and compete in WorldStar and AsiaStar competitions accredited by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and Asian Packaging Federation (APF).

VALUE ADDED EXPORTS PASS THROUGH DESIGN

Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir, President of ASD emphasized that this year the competition was being organized for the tenth time and added that: "Value added production passes through design. What adds value to a product and brings it forward is design of the packaging. We, as ASD underline supporting packaging manufacturers and designers to develop innovative design ideas and organize Crescent and Stars of Packaging accepted to be one of the most prestigious competitions in the industry to assist our industry reflecting its relevant skills. Increasing interest in our competition demonstrates that we are on the right track and the increase in participation from abroad shows that our efforts to make our country a center of attraction have paid off."
