 Turkey Returned from WorldStar 2016 with 13 Awards

Results of the Worldstar 2016 Competition organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) were announced. Turkish companies won 13 awards in the Competition in which 293 products from 35 countries participated. Turkey became the 3^rd country with the highest number of awards after the UK, USA, and China.

Results of the Worldstar 2016 competition organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) were announced. Turkish companies achieved great success by earning 13 awards at the WorldStar 2016 competition which had admissions of 293 products from 35 countries, whose jury meeting was held in Mumbai, India by the World Packaging Organization. Turkey became the 3^rd country with the highest number of awards after the UK (15 awards), USA, and China (14 awards each). Turkey which shared third place with Japan and Austria passed countries such as Germany, France, Spain, and Switzerland.

 Sadettin Korkut, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Packaging Manufacturers’ Association stated that the Turkish Packaging Industry which focuses on added value was gaining an ever prominent position in global competition. Korkut continued, "The WorldStar competition which has been organized by the World Packaging Association since 1970 is the most important competition in the international arena in terms of packaging. Products that receive at least a ‘competency award’ at the Crescent and Stars for Packaging Competition which we hold in Turkey, and which has become a brand unto itself, earn the right to participate in WorldStar. Our achievements in the international arena clearly demonstrate the competitive power of our industry. We will continue to work with resolution toward achieving our goal of making Turkey be the packaging center of the Eurasia Region.”

 Companies that are successful in the WorldStar 2015 Competition will receive their awards at the gala evening to be held on May 26^thin Budapest.The AsiaStar 2015 Competition Awards Ceremony had also been held within the framework of the Regular General Assembly of the Asian Packaging Federation (APF) and related events, held recently in Istanbul, with the attendance of representatives of the Asian packaging sector, where Turkey having participated in the AsiaStar Competition for the 2^nd time this year and earning 18 awards, had been the 4^th country with the highest number of awards.  The companies and packaging that earned the right to participate in the WorldStar 2016 Competition by winning awards in the Crescent and Moon of Packaging Competition were the following:
