 Have You Checked Through the Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition Catalogue?

Please click on the following link to view the catalogue containing the results of the 7th edition of the Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition, for which the awards ceremony was organized by the Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD) on 23 September 2016 at Shangri-La Bosphorus.

Results of the Crescents and Stars of Packaging Competition 2016 

Awards were given to 64 packaging designs, in 11 different categories, out of the 199 entries in the competition. One of the awards went to a design from the Netherlands in the competition where entries from abroad were accepted for the second time in 2016.

Out of a total 199 entries in the competition, 10 packages received the ‘Gold Award’, 14 the ‘Silver Award’ and 15 the ‘Bronze Award’, while 25 other packages won the "Competency Award” in various categories. 3 out of the Gold-awarded designs were also selected and given the "Gold Packaging Award” in cooperation with the Turkish Standards Institute.

The highest number of applications for the Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition 2016, in which brands and designers participate with their commercialized packages, were in the categories of food, graphic design and beverages. Recognized as one of the most prestigious competitions in Turkey, almost 50% of the entries were in the categories of food, graphic design and beverages. In 2016, the highest number of entries, i.e. 56, came from the food industry, which was followed by 29 entries in the graphic design category and 22 entries in the beverages category.

The competition categories were expanded in 2016 to include "luxury packages” and "packaging components” as well, and a high number of entries were received in the "luxury packages” category.

The award-winning 64 packages also won the right to participate in both the WorldStar and AsiaStar competitions, organized by the World Packaging Organization and Asian Packaging Federation, respectively. The award ceremony, attended by some 400 guests, was closed with a concert given by pop-star Nükhet Duru. Please also click on the following link to view the video of the award ceremony.
